Stitch & Craft is the big, big show in London that ushers in the Spring and offers so many new, fresh ideas. A SPECIAL SHOW for a SPECIAL YEAR!
We celebrate the Olympics with an extraordinary and never-to-be repeated display of quilts, we celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a competition to create a card for Her Majesty and we celebrate the advent of Future’s bright new magazine, Mollie Makes.
Dotted throughout the Show are the LIVE stages that proved so popular last year. Brought to you by your favourite magazines, the timetable for each one varies and will be available here on our website shortly. Meanwhile take a look at what’s happening on each of the three floors of the show!!
First Floor – Welcome to the Knitting Zone!! Knitting LIVE is the special stage area where you can meet the teams from The Knitter and Simply Knitting magazines plus meet a host of star knitters such as Fiona Morris. The stage will be surrounded by a galaxy of yarn boutiques and designer stands, so come and be seduced by those soft, sensuous yarns. Don’t know how to knit? We’ll show you how!
PLUS see The World in Miniature – Knitted Model Village. Join our competition to create a knitted model village. Patterns including a house, a car and a person will be published in Simply Knitting and are also available on our website www.twistedthread.com.
BEST IN SHOW – both dog and cat lovers can feel free to continue the debate at Stitch and Craft as we present he finest knitted dogs and cats. Just purrfect!
Welcome to Mollie Makes – join us for a crafty cuppa in the Mollie Makes vintage tearoom or come along earlier and catch us ‘glamping’. We have a real live quilted yurt for you to enjoy! Plus we will be showing over 500 quilts from A Gift of Quilts – an idea born at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics involving a gift of a quilt to every single team participating in the Olympics or Paralympics as a unique sign of friendship and peace.
Quilts 4 London – quilters have also been busy creating a quilted pennant for each and every athlete taking part in the Games!
Come and see all this and more on the First Floor!
Ground Floor – See new designers as well as old favourites such as Jane Greenoff and Margaret Sherry. Margaret celebrates the Diamond Jubilee by offering a free chart to the first 250 people coming to her stand each day!
On the Stitching LIVE stage meet Emily Peacock or Jessica Aldred from the Royal School of Needlework and many others.
Join in the badge making fun with cross stitcher Miso Funky and get the latest from celebrity blogger Mr X Stitch. Join the mini workshops and learn how to cross stitch a letter from our funky alphabet. Join the stitching revolution!
Lower Ground Floor – We welcome docrafts once again and they take their place alongside the Papercraft Inspirations team at their exclusive Bloom and Go workshops! Make fabulous paper flowers using various techniques. Create a display or turn your flowers into gorgeous greeting cards.
Also on the Lower Ground we have the twistedthread VIP lounge, the Making Spot cafe, the Debbi Moore workshop along with 2 other workshops and all your favourite papercraft suppliers. Plenty of seating on the Lower Ground Floor – make your way on down!
